About

Beating the Winter Blues: A Self-Paced 6-Week Programme for Seasonal Affective Disorder As the days grow shorter and darker, many of us feel our energy, focus, and motivation begin to dip. Beating the Winter Blues is a 6-week online programme designed to help you understand and manage Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. But this course goes beyond the basics. We recognise that the way we absorb and integrate therapeutic tools isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our neurodiversity, levels of self-criticism, and meta-cognitive patterns (how we think about our thinking) all shape how we experience mood changes and respond to support. That’s why, before diving into CBT strategies, this programme takes time to explore these three areas, helping you understand your unique mental landscape. By doing so, you’ll not only learn CBT tools, but also discover how to apply them effectively and compassionately to your mind, your patterns, and your life. Each week builds gently on the last, guiding you step by step through awareness, reflection, and practical action. You’ll learn how to: -Identify patterns that keep your winter mood low -Work with (not against) your neurotype and thought style -Soften self-criticism and strengthen self-compassion -Use CBT tools in a way that feels natural and sustainable -Reconnect with motivation, light, and balance during the darker months *Each video is no more than 10 minutes long, making it easy to stay consistent and integrate the practices into your weekly rhythm. This isn’t just about “getting through” winter, it’s about understanding yourself more deeply, cultivating warmth from within, and learning to thrive even when the days are dimmer.
